ASIAN LACQUER SYMPOSIUM 2013 by Buffalo State College, New York State Call for papers: The conference will be highly multidisciplinary, exploring all aspects of Asian lacquers including the art and craft of working with lacquers, history, conservation, chemistry, and material properties of urushi. The format will be a mix of demonstrations, lectures and poster presentations. Submissions of themed presentations on all aspects of Asian lacquer are welcome, including: Working practices of artists; Traditional and modern methodology; Art history; Examination; Conservation treatment; Scientific analysis; Challenges of economic supply. The deadline for submission is 2 January 2013. |
